Develop the Wayuu Nation

This is the photo of a local girl living in La Guajira, making and selling bracelets. It could have been easy to judge because the girl had some spots on her dress and visible dirt on her body. But without paying attention to outside appearances I found that  she was very nice when I talked to her and and was happy to tell me about her culture. She is happy. She lives in a very simple way. When we traveled here on a school project we distributed supplies that we raised money for and the children’s expressions were priceless when they received them. From this I learned that it is the simple little things that make people happy, and that we can come together to give these people who live such a simple life things that can help them. We can help these people, not just by giving them stuff in charity, but by teaching them how to improve and develop their nation so they can have a solution to their scarce water sources and poverty.
