Do you see this magnificent desert? It might not last much longer. In La Guajira there are two main problems, plastic and mining. The plastic in La Guajira is out of control. There are plastic mountains in most cities because they don’t have any recycling facilities. A solution to this is to create a recycling facility for all of La Guajira. This isn’t just affecting the health of the people but also the health of all the animals that inhabit this beautiful place. Another big problem is the mining, they should be able to keep mining, but responsibly so they don’t destroy these habitats. The mining in La Guajira is devastating, and it is contaminating the water and making it very hard to live. A solution is to mine responsibly by reducing mining overall and  measuring a large reduction in pollution of the air and water, in order to help the people recover from this crisis.
